Through the ongoing series titled Impressions of nothing Milica explores the (dis)connections we share with the spaces we inhabit and the things we possess.
These photographs are devoid of a clearly defined subject. On display instead are empty surfaces, indistinct shapes, misaligned objects and aggressive shadows.
The bare compositions allow the observer to project their own thoughts, feelings or assumptions onto them, resulting in an entirely subjective insight. The tension between what is present and what is purposefully omitted from the frame invites a deeper reflection on which parts of our environments deserve preservation in a photograph and how we arrive at that decision.
